There's something with it being a real dollar, that makes the difference. Plus, with what Kevin's making off of each puzzle, it's cheap material to work with. Len Well now that's printing money a no no . Actually folks it is NOT illegal you just have to make some simple modifications and not try to pass it off as real currency. For instance This was a phot copy of a $2 bill but only the face of it. The bill itself has been modified to read THIS NOTE IS NOT LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS,PUBLIC AND PRIVATE GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES Print it out of a color copier glue it down to your puzzle board seal and put a finish on it then cut it and whala you have a $2 bill puzzle that looks just like the real thing but is not. Bill WIlson
Sorry to be a wet blanket, but I've always believed, perhaps incorrectly, that doing something like that was technically illegal. Something about intentionally defacing legal tender. A quick google seemed to support this belief, but I didn't look any further to confirm. Before you start selling those, you might want to check it out.

This WOULD be illegal if one were to print it and attempt to pass it as real money that is called counterfeiting. However since it is only an image of a bill and in no way could it be construed as being a real $2 bill because it is glued to a piece of wood and puzzle pieces cut from it, Here is another thing about this, you can resize the image to be smaller, bigger or the same size as a real bill and if one is still uncomfortable about it then of course be my guest and cut up real money - which is defacing it btw. DW hi Dw .I'm sure what your saying is absolutely correct .and i'm sure the Steve good also checked out all the legalaties of cutting up a real dollar.who designed the dollar bill puzzle. He worked for zerox for oodles of years so something must be correct?
