Working the Proxxon

Here is another piece that I just went out to the shop and cut. I am not putting these in the bragging tab because I am only practicing and really not interested in making keeper pieces. These are just going into the garbage so I am not concerned with finishing any of them. What i am discovering from this about the saw is that it works quite well with thin wood. I have not tried anything thicker a

Than 1/16 inch BB PLY so far. I am going to give it a test on 1/2 inch next and then see how it does with that. It does not have a very powerful motor in it so we will see how it performs on some of that. The saw might be good for ornaments and small projects. So far I like it pretty well for them

My first scroll saw was a vibrating one ,what a racket. It had to go.I wonder if yours has a motor or vibrates?

It is vibration free. I was able to place a nickel on edge while it was running and it stayed there just fine... Not sure about your question, Kevin, but I know it does not have a lot of power, for sure. I am  going to go cut another piece from 1/4 inch ply and see how it does

There once was a wood store in Milford . It close down. they had a Proxxon  the owner said that he cut a piece of popular 1/2 thick, but from what I saw it didn't have the power but he said that it would. It was quiet and vibration free and you I put a nickle on it and it stayed there while it was running. if I made only Christmas decorations I would lie to have one.
