Need ideas

Hi everyone, I have a teacher friend of mine that I work with in kindergarten every day where I volunteer. She's going to be getting her Doctorate degree an I want to make her something. Any ideas. Thanks

How about a memory box for her to place memories of a special occasion Ralph A memory box can be designed to suit any occasion.

Maybe a name plaque for her desk showing her degree & name .

Ron, not sure if a memory box would be big enough. I'm sure she has a lot of memory s. She's been teaching for 34 years. Thanks for the idea though. I already made her a name plaque for her desk already. I do have a Sue Ley pattern of a 17 inch cross for a teacher but not sure if that would work. I was going to make that one for her for xmas.

That's very nice of you to honor her accomplishments.  I am sure that whatever you do she will treasure. You have gotten a couple ideas.  I will put my thinking cap on and see if anything surfaces.  You could make her a plaque perhaps with her name, degree earned (if you can find it out), school obtained from, and date.  Add a grad cap and rolled diploma to it.

I've got a pattern for a sign that states "Teachers don't teach from the book, they teach from the heart", or something like that. I could try to find it and let you know who designed it. I likely got it from Scroller or the Wooden Teddy Bear.

Not sure it is want you want for a doctorate but Steve Good has several patterns which are especially good for elementary teachers

Thanks for all the ideas everyone. I think her Doctorate is in some type of technology. I do have Steve Goods CD catalogues. I'll have to check them out.

I have a puzzle pattern in the shape of an apple; the kids could sign the puzzle pieces. The pattern appeared in ScrollSaw Woodworking and crafts a few years ago.

Thanks Brian. That might work later on in the year. Kids are only 5 and most can't write yet.
