wombatie Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 Do any of you have Dropbox on your phone and computer? I have had it for about 6 or 7 years now and have had no problems what so ever until now........Since I got my new computer, I can't access Dropbox on my phone because they want a pass code that I do not have. Do any of you have a pass code? I have tried contacting them and they are insistent that I look at their FAQ which I have already done but there is not one thing about pass codes would help if it came from a real person and not a computer generated message, you can't yell at them, well you can but it's not the same as yelling at a real person. Birchbark Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 I don't have a Dropbox account, but my daughter does. She can post a bunch of pics of my granddaughter and then send me the Pass Code, I can then go there and look at the pictures, AFTER i put in the pass code. Same when a friend has a program or a giant list of fonts that he wants to share with me. The program may be to big to send through email, so he just sends me a Pass Code so i can see his account and download the program. I'm guessing you are trying to go to the dropbox account and view it. They are going to ask you for a pass code so you can view the files. You might be trying to access the account from the wrong place or something like that. IDK. I would suggest you open another account there, Maybe that will bring something back to mind that you aren't doing correctly. Russell wombatie 1 Quote
Dan Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 From what I've read you have to remove Dropbox from your phone and reinstall it. Give it a try. You shouldn't lose anything. wombatie and Birchbark 2 Quote
Lucky2 Posted August 17, 2016 Report Posted August 17, 2016 Sorry Marg, this is the first time I've ever heard of Dropbox. Len Quote
wombatie Posted August 17, 2016 Author Report Posted August 17, 2016 Well I just spent the last half an hour uninstalling and reinstalling Dropbox, am happy to report that all is right with the world now. Thanks Dan. It was not the easiest uninstall I have ever done that is for sure, but I am now able to access all of my photos again. Thanks for your help guys. Marg Quote
meflick Posted August 18, 2016 Report Posted August 18, 2016 Glad you got it working again for you Marg. Nothing like not being able to access your photos. That would have been rough. wombatie 1 Quote
Jim McDonald Posted August 18, 2016 Report Posted August 18, 2016 I tried Dropbox on a large collaborative project and had fits with it. I guess I'm getting past the age where I want to learn new software. Quote
Falcon Posted August 18, 2016 Report Posted August 18, 2016 Marg I use sendthisfile.com for large files and pictures. It does not store you files just a place to transfer large files. Might be worth looking at. Glad you got your pic's back Quote
LarryEA Posted August 18, 2016 Report Posted August 18, 2016 (edited) Hey, would creating a new account help? Edited August 18, 2016 by LarryEA Quote
wombatie Posted August 19, 2016 Author Report Posted August 19, 2016 Hey, would creating a new account help? All is good now Larry. Had to uninstall and reinstall a couple of times but all came good in the end. Marg Quote
wombatie Posted August 19, 2016 Author Report Posted August 19, 2016 I tried Dropbox on a large collaborative project and had fits with it. I guess I'm getting past the age where I want to learn new software. I only use Dropbox for my photos. When I take a photo on my phone it automatically downloads into Dropbox. Then I can make it smaller in Word to put onto the forum. Works better than anything else that I have tried. Marg Quote
