On September 9 & 10, L. L. Johnson in Charlotte, Michigan is having there Wood Expo. They have a huge amount of various hardwoods available for very good prices. They also have Baltic Birch for great prices. I got a full sheet of 1/8" BB there last year.

They also have a number of classes on various type of woodworking. My favorite is Kathy Wise who gives several presentations on Intarsia. It is great time to be able to talk with her.

One think the Kathy could do is have a pay for view of her classes. That way she's still making money and the world can come into her class room.

I wish there were more events for scrollers. There is one in Lancaster, PA every year but too long a drive for me. It gets too expensive if it is a long drive.

It "wood" be nice if people posted about such events.

I have traveled the roughly 6 hours to the Lancaster show the last three year. Wife and I make kinda a mini vacation (I go to the show and she tours around the Amish Country). 6 -8 hours is kinda my limit so Michigan is too far. I highly recommend the Lancaster show if you can swing it.

We use to have woodworking shows in Nashville but it's been 10 or 15 years ago. It was always in downtown Nashville and the price for parking was very high and it cost a lot to get in the show. Most men woodworkers are old "The ladies are always young"    People that are older don't like going down town IMO. I assume they didn't make enough money to keep having them. I bet they would do better now as there are more people and cheaper places to rent.

Thanks for the information! Also a bit far for me from LI NY. I go to the Fox Chapel open house every year. Also Our local club has a show every November. I really enjoy the Open Hose since I get to meet many of the friends from the forums.
