I sent Seyco an email...

I am very new to scroll sawing in fact I still haven't got my Dewalt 788 I ordered on Ebay. I ordered it on 8/9/16. So I am pretty sure I am still going to need a scroll saw so I sent Seyco an email asking when they might have the EX saws back in stock. I haven't heard anything from them. I am new so I don't know if they are a good company or not but I do know they haven't started out good with me. I am sure glad you can buy scroll saws at more than one place.  LOL

Don, I have been doing business wit Seyco for about two years and find them to be good people !....Having said that , i must admit i have never E mailed them, I called and talked to Ray.....They are a small outfit as i understand it and might not have staff to reply quickly....I would just say that I have always been happy with the service received from them........Just my two cents worth.

They are a very good company, Don.  They have answered every email I have sent them.  You can call them also.  If there are no Ex's it is not their fault and they are not the only ones that don't have them in stock.  If you don't want to wait, and I don't blame you for that, have you considered the Jet?  Almost the same as the EX and same price, or close.  Not sure Seyco is open on weekends.   Call their  number, it will give their business hours if they are not open.

I have considered the Jet and will more than likely go with it unless I the 788 comes. It is supposed to be here by Wed. but I don't think it will. I haven't heard from the seller at all. Maybe one day soon I will get into scrolling.    :)

How long have you waited for Seyco to reply, and where did you send the e-mail to? Are you sure it was Seyco, why didn't you call them? I live in Canada and Ray always returns my calls, I've never sent him an e-mail.

Len

Len I am pretty sure it was Seyco I was on their web site. I sent them an email because no body wants to talk any more. I am sure they are a good company but when you don't have much to sell...  You must remember I never heard of Seyco until I read about it on this forum. {{{I am in no way putting blame on this forum}}} It sure seems I am having a lot of trouble getting a scroll saw.

"It sure seems I am having a lot of trouble getting a scroll saw."  Even though I'm not trying for the top of the line, I feel your pain.  My first saw had a design flaw and the adapters for plain end blades would not even fit.  Took it back.  The second one did fine for about 30 minutes and then went to pot.  Never heard such a racket.  Sent it back.  Now I'm waiting for a refund (it's Sears so I might get it sometime this decade) before I can afford my next victim.  EXCEPT, my husbands beer fridge blew up yesterday and the saw fund has now become a fridge fund because we all know life is not worth living without a beer fridge.  (33 years sober for me) So, I wish you better luck than I have had on your saw purchasing adventures.

Check your e-mail.  I sent Seyco an email last Saturday after lunch with a sander question.  I figured it the weak-end and they would answer me on Monday when they opened.  Ray sent back to me within the hour with the detailed answer.  I was impressed.  I turned out ordering the sander and they had it to me in three days which with the distance is a great time.   Based on my experience they are a great company to do business with.

Women have a way with men and usually get what they want so it shouldn't be to hard to get a scroll saw.    At least that is the way it works in my house. She left for Fla. this mourning. I find it better to buy a good used tool than buy a new cheap one. So buy quality. Good luck!!!

You may also want to check your spam folder.  Sometimes your computer recognizes a business email address a.nd automatically sends it to SPAM.  I have discovered this after calling to complain that I didn't get a response to an email.

Ward

Ward I check my spam about twice a day because there are a couple  of people that send me emails by the dozen but some times I get an email about someone that has passed away. I also thought that if an email from Seyco went to spam but didn't have the word Seyco in the title I could have trashed it.
