Fair winners

I recently went to a county fair and ventured into the Market building to see if they had

a display for scroll saw work and judging.

Here are the winners I saw in Fretwork and Intarsia categories.

I could not get close enough to the exhibit due to barriers and do not know

how they specifically categorized entries (beginers?, Expert?, type of cutting?, who knows?)

It appears the Tiger Intrsia took several ribbons and I imagine one is Best of Show.

God Bless! Spirithorse

Interesting.  Our county fair is next week.  I haven't been in several years, but I am going this year because I want to see what is entered in woodworking.  Mainly any scroll or intarsia.  I am hoping to get some names of people in my area that are interested in scrolling, make some local contacts.  Maybe start a club.  We have an active wood turning club and a carving club, but I can not locate any scrollers.

Bob, thanks for sharing these pictures with us, I'm always interested in seeing others work. I used to enter my cuttings in the fair competitions, but I haven't for years. They got cheap and quit offerings prizes or ribbons for our work, they said it just got to expensive. They stated that, they just wanted us to display our work so that it would draw in the crowds. Most of us quit putting our work on display after hearing this, because the crowds were larger than ever and the operators were taking in a fortune.
