Len Len ,in my experience with wood flooring's is .i think they kind of make them water proof with by adding sand in the mix.My 4'-4.5 carbide saw blades don't last at all an you can see sparks coming off the blade I don't cut wood floor pieces any more as your correct in that they eat up the blades quick.
