cynbone
I think I have discovered a problem but I could be wrong. I purchased 3 patterns from a well known site, $5 per pattern. When I got the patterns, they were branded with another well known site's name on them. I went to the 2nd site and found the same patterns, same price. I have purchased patterns from both sites and never had a problem. Is there a problem here?
DWSUDEKUM
It does not necessarily indicate a problem. I can think of several scenarios that would cover this. First - The two sites are owned by the same group. Two - the two sites have a common pattern source. Third - The pattern maker has sold to both sites the same pattern and both sites decided to price it the same. There are more however you get the idea.... there most likely is a perfectly logical and legal answer to the question you brought up. dgman
Did you buy from an online catalog like Wooden Teddybear or Scroller or Cherry Tree or something like that. If so, they source patterns from designers, some of which sell their own patterns too. Edited August 28, 2016 by dgman
Lucky2
If you purchased it from one site and it carries the branding of another site, then there's something not right. Each site has it's own name or mark, that's the mark or name they are supposed to sell products under. I know that numerous pattern makers sell their patterns to many different retailers, but, usually the retailer sells the patterns with their company name or mark on it, not anothers. meflick
Like has been noted, there may be a "legal and logical" explanation for it for any of the reasons already noted. If it really concerns you and you want to know that you are buying "legal" copies then you could contact the 2nd site and ask them if other sites also sell the same patterns noting that you have seen the same patterns on both their site and another or others. Lucky2
That what I think. So what am I supposed to do with this, anything? Seeing as how you've done nothing wrong, cut the pattern out and enjoy the cutting. If this is really bothering you, then do what Meflick (Melanie) has suggested. If you don't want to go that route, then just forget about it. Len
