Montserrat
a little project to occupy the mind. When I got to the letters, they were too close and it did not work out, especially for the "a"s. Anyway. It'll do..., I guess. crupiea
dgman
It makes for good practice Monti. I always cut lettering first just in case this happens. I will try to modify those letters to make sure there is enough material that will not break off. Montserrat
GPscroller
Live and learn. Who is to say that is not the way that you meant the "a"s to be. I have done them that way. Looks good. Thanks for the pic. Jeff Montserrat
jerry1939
We have all "Been there, Done that." Personally, when doing delicate things, I wouldn't even consider NOT putting a "sacrifice board" on both the top and bottom. Run the grain of the sacrifice boards opposite the piece you want. To me, it's darn cheap insurance on something that will take a lot of time. Often give away the sacrifice board(s) to anyone that wants it. They often spray paint and use them. jerry lonewolf and WayneMahler

wombatie
We have all done it. Like Dan said it is best to cut the letters first and also not to drill the holes for the rest until the letters are done, that way you don't waste all of the wood if something goes wrong.
