fredfret Posted September 1, 2016 Report Posted September 1, 2016 I use Fd#3 reverse #1,and 2/0 plus 2/0 new spirals for 1/4 BB ply. I cut puzzles with Superior puzzle blades and 1/4 BB Ply. Fredfret Wichita, Ks Quote
Scrolling Steve Posted September 1, 2016 Report Posted September 1, 2016 I use FD 2/0 and 3/0 spirals and #3 ultra reverse in 1/4 BB all the time ...No reason the #5 blades wouldn't work fine! Quote
LarryEA Posted September 1, 2016 Report Posted September 1, 2016 I don't understand (#3's and # 5's) since there are more than one type of (#3's and # 5's). I use a #2CT that is an (.026 x .013 with 20TPI ) to cut 1/4 inch wood. or a 2R (.029 x 012 with 20-14rev TPI) THese are Olson blades Quote

Bill WIlson Posted September 1, 2016 Report Posted September 1, 2016 Are we talking about straight blades? If so, depending on the detail and intricacy of the pattern, I will use a #2, #2/0 reverse tooth Olson or maybe a #1 FD/UR. For me, anything larger is more aggressive than necessary for 1/4" thick material. Spirals are a different matter. Quote
Denny Knappen Posted September 1, 2016 Report Posted September 1, 2016 I use FR UR #1 of FD Spiral #2/0 depending on the project. Quote
Lucky2 Posted September 2, 2016 Report Posted September 2, 2016 Bobby, for 1/4" bb plywood, I usually use a #3UR blade from the Flying Dutchman. Len Quote
amazingkevin Posted September 2, 2016 Report Posted September 2, 2016 #5 scroll reverse is my choice for 1/4" wood, high details #3 Quote
Ron Johnson Posted September 2, 2016 Report Posted September 2, 2016 If the blades you're using straight, cutting ¼" BB with a #3 or #5 is generally a good choice. I usually go to a #5 automatically when cutting ¼", ½" and or ¾". Quote
lawson56 Posted September 2, 2016 Author Report Posted September 2, 2016 Thanks Guys, It would seem that #3 is the most go to blade for 1/4 inch wood I will have to order me some this weekend after my Labor Day sale.Which I hope is a Great one Thanks again for all your help I will try to let you know how it turns out. NC Scroller Posted September 3, 2016 Report Posted September 3, 2016 I seldom cut a single piece of 1/4" wood. I like to stack cut 3 -4 pieces depending on the pattern. My go to blade is a #5 FD UR but depending on the pattern and even the part I am cutting I might switch to a #1 or #3 FD UR or even a #1 or #2/0 spiral. I also use Olsen #5 PGT at times Point being don't lock yourself into one blade size, brand or type. Experiment and see what works for you. Sorcier 1 Quote
