dgman
Boo the Magic Dragon. Pattern by Diana Thompson from the Summer 2005 issue of Scroll Saw Work Shop, now Creative Woodworks and Crafts. Compound cut from 1-1/2 x 1-1/2" Mahogany. Wings are Yellowheart, tail is Purpleheart and the base is spalted oak. He is about 7" tall. The finish is my usual, a soaking in 50/50 boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits, then when dry a topcoat of Deft semi gloss spray lacquer. I found the crystal ball on Etsy. Debi Shipman, crupiea, lawson56 and 4 others

DW Thanks DW. I was going to use a marble, but my wife was having nothing of it. She insisted I use a crystal ball.
