Then for the back sheet ( Which i usely paint) I go to Home depot and use there underpayment @ 12 a 4X8 sheet. then give it a coat of spray Lacquer. Frank Pellow
I use the good Baltic Birch Plywood, not the crap sold at big box stores. I've been using A LOT of this type of plywood for many years in my cabinet-making work and the quality is worth the extra cost. I use so much of it and in so many different thicknesses that I built a frame in my garage to hold my supply. A photo is attached. I'm fortunate in that there are many outlets in the Toronto area that stock the real stuff. Edited September 9, 2016 by Frank Pellow

savethebeer
In Ireland we don't have Baltic Birch, we have Russian Birch. I suppose they are identical products. I will have to buy some by December so I'll let you know then.
hawkeye10
In the USA the term Baltic Birch is used to describe plywood that has Birch in it. I think the good ply that is 5' X 5' is Russian Birch.
Denny Knappen
A source in TN is Jefferies located southeast of Knoxville. I stopped by there several times.
Frank Pellow
Of course, Russia is on the Baltic and I expect that a lot of the plywood we get is from there. I do know that at least half of what I currently have in stock was manufactured in Finland. Edited September 9, 2016 by Frank Pellow

Baltic Birch plywood has more plys than regular Birch ply, and has thicker outer plys.
