Rockytime
Friday I will be looking at used Hawk 216VS. I have read the reviews in the saw review section. The saw owner says the saw is in excellent condition. It comes on the factory stand and the photos appear very nice. The asking price is $195. It is hooked up so I can try it. I do like the Hawks for their simple engineering and ruggedness. Also it is a little bigger than my 14". Doubtful I will ever need anything bigger. jbrowning

Ron Johnson
How can you go wrong Les. The stand alone is probably worth $100.00. It's a steal if the saw is fully functional to your satisfaction. The Hawk is a quality machine. All the best with your decision.
Scrappile
I think if I found a good deal like that, I'd own 3 saws. SCROLLSAW703
bandaideman
It is certainly worth the test drive. but that is a good price if the condition is as stated.
Rockytime
Thanks for the affirmation. I'll see it tomorrow afternoon. I'll post the results.
Blaughn
At that price, even if you have to replace some parts, you can't go wrong. I bought a used 226 VS Ultra for $450 and believe I got a good deal. I had to replace the air bladder, the arm retention spring and the upper and lower blade clamp "T" screws (the plastic had gotten brittle with age.) Total for all of these was around $30.00. Lucky2
It could be a great deal, all you can do upfront is give it a good work-out before buying it. Len

Rolf
What vintage is this saw? I know they made a new 16" when Bushton first took over but I have not seen one of them. If it is one of the very early saws (many years ago) make sure that they still have parts for it.
Denny Knappen
Like Paul, I would own three saws with a deal like that.
