Rob
Sadly Baltic birch ply is not available here in New Zealand nor it seems Australia. I know Marg uses Marine ply as an alternative but I have so far only found marine ply in 8' x 4' sheets at $56 per sheet. Having no way to transport a sheet that size I am a bit stuck so this surfer pattern was cut from an old plywood drawer bottom. It was a bit soft which made things difficult. It might have been better stack cut but I only had one piece large enough. Anyway, here it is: Thanks Russell for another great pattern, Rob Edited September 16, 2016 by Rob Vott1, MTCowpoke22, vykus and 6 others
wombatie
I am lucky Rob, Terry's got a ute / truck with a large tray, so a large sheet of marine ply fits in no trouble at all. That looks great, very Australian / New Zealand in theme. Lots of surf beaches around here. Marg Rob

Marg I would love a ute with a big tray but the wife says "Where will we put the kids and the dog?" apparently in the back is not an option.... penquin
Rob, that came out great. Smart on the use of the drawer bottom old or discarded furniture can be recycled into all types of uses for cutting. Watch for what folks throw in the trash and you may find some great ply and other woods to use. jim penquin Rob
