heppnerguy
I use both and keep trying different blades.. Just when I think I have found the perfect blade for me. I start cutting different things and then all of a sudden I have a new 'perfect' blade. Blades are kind of like cars or saws, no car or saw is perfect for everyone. You just need to try different ones and see which work best for you. I use both brands and usually buy both at the same time.. so just keep trying different ones until you find the one for you. Then don't be surpised if you too end up learning to like a different blade, down the road Dick heppnerguy SCROLLSAW703

Bill WIlson
I use a mix of both brands. As the replies in this thread indicate, actual user experiences will differ dramatically. Two guys can use the same blade for the same project and have completely opposite impressions of the experience. Experience is the best teacher when it comes to what blade works best for you. Advice from others is good for pointing you in general directions, but ultimately only you can decide what you like best. Rolf
I started with Olson blades and have tried all of the other brands. I kept going back to the Olson blades, they work best for my way of cutting. My go to blades Olson 2/0 R delicate fret work, Olson Mach 3 for Intarsia and most thicker. If real hard and thick Olson PGT blade. I do use the FD puzzle blade on occasion and their polar blades for plastic. Rarely the FD 2/0 New spiral for when I do lots of veining. Bottom line try many until you find what works best for you and with your saw and projects. Mike was a great guy I had many blade discussions with him. He helped many of us in this hobby. Jim Finn
I use both. I find Olson blades outlast FD blades for the work I do.
Frank Pellow
For the most part, I use Olsen reverse tooth blades and Flying Dutchman spiral blades.
