Rockytime Posted September 23, 2016 Report Posted September 23, 2016 I know BLO is boiled linseed oil but what does BLO/BLO mean? Must be a mixture of some kind but what? Quote
dgman Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 Don't know what you are showing is, but I use a 50/50 mixture of boiled linseed oil (BLO) and mineral spirits. The oil brings out the grain and color of the wood. The mineral spirits thins the oil to allow the oil to spread around the project easier and allow the mixture to dry a lot faster, usually in 24-36 hours. Scrolling Steve 1 Quote
Rockytime Posted September 24, 2016 Author Report Posted September 24, 2016 Thanks. 50/50 is what I had intended. Makes sense now. Quote
Lucky2 Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 Les, the only thing I can figure out that BLO/BLO means, is layer after layer of blo, like more than one coating. Len Quote
