Dave Monk Posted September 28, 2016 Report Posted September 28, 2016 I love that pattern and cutting. I am going to have to do that one. dave Birchbark and Scrappile 2 Quote
Bill WIlson Posted September 28, 2016 Report Posted September 28, 2016 Cherry darkens significantly with exposure to UV light. I wonder what would happen if you taped off the darker section, right along the glue joint and put the piece out in the sun for a couple days to see if the color evened out? If you don't care for the piece in its current state, it might be worth a try. Scrappile 1 Quote
Vott1 Posted September 28, 2016 Report Posted September 28, 2016 I also think it looks like heart wood and sap wood of a single piece. Variation is part of the beauty of wood to me. I think it looks great! Scrappile 1 Quote
meflick Posted September 28, 2016 Report Posted September 28, 2016 Great cutting. What one piece sees as a "flaw" others see as adding to the piece. Scrappile 1 Quote
Ninuninu Posted September 28, 2016 Report Posted September 28, 2016 I recon it sets it of just nicely. Lovely effect Tony Scrappile 1 Quote
banderson Posted September 28, 2016 Report Posted September 28, 2016 I would put it in the sun to see if the cherry oxidizes to a more blended color if the contrast is a bother. Beautiful cutting. Scrappile 1 Quote
