Craft paint.

For those of you that use craft paint on some of your projects, what is the best brand to use? I have been using Apple Barrel brand I get at Walmart but I was wondering if I can do better.

I use Americana Brand.  You can get it at just about any craft store.  They have a medium also that you can

use to mix the paint and make it into a transparent stain.

I find all the different brands to be about the same. The bigest issue is how long it sat on the shelf at the store. All can be thinned with water and are easy to clean up. I only buy the small containers and only the colors I need for the project.

For what little painting I do, the Wal Mart stuff seems to work well.  Of course, the quality of the brush is paramount.

Have used DecoArt for years.  Found Apple Barrel to be very thin color.

I don't paint much but my wife does. She has been using Plaid and DecoArt. She seems to like them.

than you can get by

are some that I've used over the years with great success

Normally buy the 2oz bottles but for the colors I use more than others I buy the 8oz. bottles

My mother was kinda like Grandma Moses. No art training, just a farm girl with no education, but she painted amazing murals with little cans of colored enamel. So you can use anything that works for you.

If I have to paint something, I use Deco-Art crafters acrylic. It's a water based all purpose paint, that you can thin as thin as you want.

The paint brush you use will really help. Spend a bit more on the brushes and you will see great results.

I like Apple Barrel the most, but I have also used other brands. I find with AB gloss you can use it outdoors. Micheals did away with selling it. Walmart and AC More still carry it.  edward
