Get ready for all those little monsters that will be lurking around.Happy Halloween.every one Hey Bobby, you're a bit late with Halloween across the big lake . We have ours on the last Friday of the month. Great fun with all the kids at the door, all dressed up in their costumes. Of course we do everything differently from the rest of the world, here in Scotland, apart from Christmas and New Year. Some folks might say it's because we're a bit strange, that's probably because we go about wearing SKIRTS. . Enjoy the fun Bobby. Rob Roy. lawson56, wombatie and dgman 3 Quote

Lucky2 Posted October 31, 2016 Report Posted October 31, 2016 Not much to prepare for around here, we only get two or three kids each year. Two of them are our nieces, their mother drives them here. Len lawson56 1 Quote
meflick Posted October 31, 2016 Report Posted October 31, 2016 Well with my kiddos off to college, and my neighborhood being out away from most other areas and houses fairly far apart - we probably won't see too many costumed creatures. We never got any that I knew of in the first 9 years that we were in this house but then we used to take my kids to my sister's to do the trick or treating as we had few here to go to. Last year was first year we were actually home and decided to order Dominos so our porch light was on. Just as Dominos delivered, we got a couple of trick or treaters but I didn't have any halloween candy to give them since I never had had them! So, I am thinking I better go buy a small bag for tomorrow just in case of at least make sure the porch light is off! If I buy a bag, I better get something we like because if I have some, we won't get anybody stopping by no doubt! I love that Cartoon Jerry. Quote
Dan Posted October 31, 2016 Report Posted October 31, 2016 Since we moved to this neighborhood a few years ago I found the neighbors have a new tradition. We sit next to our fire pit on the driveway and throw candy at the kids while drinking beer. Boy, things sure are different than when I grew up. Quote

ike Posted October 31, 2016 Report Posted October 31, 2016 (edited) When I grew up we lived in a small town with a population of 250 counting the dogs. we dressed up and when we got to a house we went inside and they guessed who we were. some tinmes it would take 3 hours to go to all the houses. time has changed. I think it was a lot more fun then. We had a ball. of corse every body knew every body else. IKE Edited October 31, 2016 by ike jbrowning 1 Quote
Debi Shipman Posted October 31, 2016 Report Posted October 31, 2016 My kids are all grown and the grandkids live too far away. When we lived in a smaller town we used to get 50-60 kids. Now that we moved to a much larger town we may see 15-20 and half of those are kids of friends. Also you can only trick-or-treat between certain hours from 6 pm until they blow the tornado sirens at 9 with an 11 pm curfew for everyone. Quote
