trackman
If you see a type of font you would like to use but don't know what it is called is there a way to find out what it is without scrolling thru 1000s of pictures of different fonts? SCROLLSAW703
you can google font types & see what it comes up with. Sometimes when I'm looking for a particular font, that's the best way I've found.
Dan
I just installed a Google Chrome Extension called WhatFont. It will allow you to mouse-over a font and tell you what it is. I'm trying some different fonts here to see if it works. One last one. heppnerguy and Dave Monk
Dan
Well, it works great on these pages. If you download it just remember to refresh your page before you scroll over it. It doesn't work on images, just text.

trackman
Thanks for the help but I couldn't get it to work. All I have is a image.
Jim McDonald
I am afraid you have run up against a sign painter from years ago. It was probably a style he developed which worked well for his style of painting. This person was most probably contracted by the stained glass company. Having done some calligraphy and brush lettering years ago, I would try very hard to copy type faces, but they always had some variations due my techniques. My art teacher at the time said the hardest thing to do in lettering was to completely follow someone else's work.

heppnerguy
I found the What font is not useful if you are frying to find the font from an image. Would be very helpful if it did Dick heppnerguy
