tmbits
Well friends here is my first project of my return! And I'm quite thrilled and proud of it! I will be submitting this to sell at an auction to raise awareness to mental illness. Its my hope it will fetch a decent price. I do have a question for you all. I THOUGHT the wood was oak when I started but having seen it now, with stain and finish, it doesn't look like oak. Is it possibly Maple? It most definitely IS a hardwood. I know that to be sure by the hundreds of blades I used Lol. I want to tha I all of you that have posted supportive comments and assisted me with patterns in the past. It is indeed an honour to share my work and view the wonderful works of other members here. I have learned SO much here. Blessings to you all!! penquin
Not sure about the type of wood but the cutting is first class. Great job on this one, love the pattern and the color of the wood really sets it off nicely. Thanks for sharing it and welcome back and keep on posting. jim penquin tmbits

DWSUDEKUM
Great cutting. It looks like oak to me. Probably white oak from the look of the grain. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW tmbits

MTCowpoke22
Great job. Looks good. I second the idea that it's oak. The grain pattern and color look like oak to me. The maple I've worked with is usually fairly white in color. tmbits

Ron Johnson
Definitely not Maple. I too would say it's oak Tim. Understandable going through a few blades. Looks like ½" or more. Beautiful pattern and very well cut. Hopefully the auction receives a good price. Credit to you Tim for donating to a great cause. tmbits

Lucky2
Tim, it's great to have you back, and this is a gorgeous cutting. There's no mistaking that it's oak, you can tell from the grain pattern. Len tmbits
