a Sully pattern

I have been wanting to cut this one for a long time and never had the guts to give it a try. After I got it cut out and was sanding off some of the fuzzies, a piece broke off and i could not find it. Other than that, I was basically pleased with the results.  If I were going to cut it again, I would enlarge he pattern as there were quite a few pretty delicate areas that would be made a little easier to cut if the pattern were larger. I want to take a moment and thank Paul,(Scrappile) for giving  me this wood I used for this project and for the inspiration he gave me as I viewed his amazing projects that he has cut. I used the 3/0 spiral on this one. I still do not care for all the work the spirals leave you with in regards to a the cleaning up of fuzzies but it is what it is.

Dick, this is a beautiful cutting, you did an amazing job cutting it out. I'm glad that you finally got the guts needed to cut this piece out, your becoming a master cutter with the spiral blades. Where's Theresa been lately, I haven't seen any postings from her lately?

Theresa is really busy working 3 jobs which gives her almost no time off for woodworking. i am going on vacation on Sunday for 2 weeks and Theresa and my other daughter will be ding the craft show while I am gone. I hope she gets more time on her post office job so she does not have to work 3 jobs and can get back to her wood working again.. I will tell her you asked about her

Fantastic work, Dick,

Thanks for sharing with us.

As for the fuzzies, have you tried burning most of the fuzzies off from the back side

with a propane torch or pencil torch? Just a few quick, light passes should take care of

most of them and leaves a lot less sanding and less opportunity for breaking any pieces.

God Bless! Spirithorse

Another beautiful piece of artwork you have created Dick. Thanks for sharing. Glad you are pushing your comfort level as your skill set is definitely ready. Thanks for the update on Theresa, I too had wondered where she was - had assumed she was busy getting ready for the craft fair. Sorry to hear she is working 3 jobs that is keeping her away from the saw. Good luck with the fair and enjoy your vacation.

You know what? I have tried probably everything but the burning of fuzzies. I  recently found a blade that does not leave fuzzies but when i cut a piece as delecate as this one, it requires a spiral blade and they are by far the worse for that. Perhaps if I continue to try these patterns, I will NEED to go get on of those torches. Thanks for the reminder
