Jerry, how much use has the saw seen? How old is the saw, does it still have a warranty? Are you mechanically inclined? What I mean, is can you take something apart and put it back together properly? Have you removed the side panel, to check out the connection points and bearings? And one last question, do you still own a owners manual?

Jerry from what I have read and folks I have talked to Delta is junk. Sorry to be so blunt. I would take it back and get your money back then look for a good quality table saw.

If you look at the schematic for the Delta and the Dewalt 788, they are identical. Only the price and colors are different. I bought a Delta 3 years ago. Took it out of the box, started it to make sure it was OK and took apart the brand new saw and greased it. Now grease it once a year and it purrs like a kitten. Another very recent post indicates that they both take the same replacement bearings.

Would speculate that your saw is like a few different brands that have only a minimal amount of grease applied at the factory. If you were to change to some of the other brands, you could very well have the same problem.

Okay here's the deal I got a new saw on Friday and ended up taking it back on Sunday, it started vibrating and making a sound like metal to metal I'm not sure if I got the only two saw that were bad but I'm not gonna get another delta. I think being the same as the Dewalt I'm not even sure if I would want one of those either, does this company take all there unusable parts and put them in the Delta I'm not sure but it does seem like it anyway just venting not sure when I'll get another saw kinda disappointed after feeling so good about getting back into it.

I'm just gonna take it back to home depot and let them take care of it. I've only had for around a month so not that old but has seen lots of use. Jerry

Your like me get your moneys worth out of it before the warranty expires and get a brand new one,.

I read that they grease it just enough to last a year with thin grease
