trackman
I use dead man switch. Sometimes you need to keep both hands on pattern. Also faster than moving foot back to switch to start or stop. Used the switch on my EX21 one time in six years (to put it in on position). I rest my foot on a short step stool with switch mounted to it. WayneMahler
Sycamore67
I got my foot switch from Harbor Freight. They are about $14 and then 20% off with a coupon.
MrsN
Just to be difficult (I'm a woman, it is my job) I don't have a foot switch. I had an on/off type foot switch laying around and used it for a bit, but never got the hang of it, so haven't used it in years. I keep putting off getting a deadman switch because I don't sit with my feet on the floor. I need to rig up a system like JT The Clock Man has, That way the switch could be useful. At school, all of our Dewys have giant knee shut off switches installed. They are taking some getting used to, I keep hearing "Mrs.N, thats not how you are supposed to do it!" I am a creature of habit. Edited December 3, 2016 by MrsN WayneMahler

Jim McDonald
Took me about 15 seconds to know that the deadman switch was for me. Don't know how i got anything done before.
JimC
I ordered the deadman switch from Amazon. I see that harbor freight has what looks like the same switch for about $8 less. Oh well, live and learn. Thanks again everybody...I really appreciate all the feedback. Can't wait to try out my new foot switch.
