Rob
This was my third craft fair, held in a local village hall. Weather was good, about 20C or 70F and quite a good turnout. I was off the main hall to one side which was not a great position but took $400. On the whole I'm pretty happy with that since my raw materials cost almost nothing, being salvaged from the local recycling centre. Thanks to Russell, Roly and Grandpa amongst others whose patterns I used. Tables are limited to 6 foot by 2 foot 3 which is not very generous. I need to improve my display for next time. Rob
Well done Rob. I may start doing the craft market scene next year with Terry, not sure yet. Marg Why not try it Marg? It can be a long day and being on your feet and smiling at everyone and talking to them can be quite tiring but I really quite enjoy it. I only do it every couple of months and it is an indoor market so no need to worry about gazebo's, tables etc. It is just arrive, unpack and sell. It definitely helps if you can take credit/debit cards though. My biggest problem is the small table and deciding what to display. I need to design some better display stands to maximise the space available. Rob wombatie

Birchbark
Wow, nice! I really like that bird on the easel. It looks simple and easy to cut. I could see someone hanging that. I hope it sold. And of course love the moose, an entire basket of them. I bet they sold well. Russell Rob

Roly Thanks Roly. Everyone thought the mooses were cute and they sold well. I added a little white glitter to the tips of the antlers even though it is summer here! They are a great use of scraps too. Thanks for sharing the pattern! Rob

It is a beautiful piece of Rimu from an old dresser top that I picked up for $1 and still have a couple of feet left. It get's lots of positive comments but no one has bought it yet. I made it after advertising a smaller version on TradeMe (the kiwi version of Ebay). Someone asked for a larger version, I made it, sent them a picture and price and never heard from them again. Annoying but there you go. The mooses sold well. I think it always helps to have a low priced item amongst your offering. Rob
Lucky2
Congrats Rob, I think you did well. Considering the space you had, is there no chance of buying extra tables at these sales? Len Rob

Rolf
Well done! especially considering the small table. Did the peace nativity sell? Still one of my favorites. I still have one small table event coming up and I think I will cut one of those for it. Edited December 5, 2016 by Rolf Rob

Rob
Well done! especially considering the small table. Did the peace nativity sell? Still one of my favorites. I still have one small table event coming up and I think I will cut one of those for it. Thanks Rolf, Yes, the Peace Nativity sold quickly and the Christmas Mooses were popular but none of my other Christmas items sold. Christmas is a bit different down here in the Southern Hemisphere with it being summertime so I didn't make too many Christmas items. Talking to another vendor, they don't do Christmas stuff at all any more having been left with unsold stock in previous years. Good luck with your event, Rob
Rob
Congrats Rob, I think you did well. Considering the space you had, is there no chance of buying extra tables at these sales? Len Thanks Len. Some vendors had more room but they have been doing it longer than me. There were 70 applicants for 30 stalls so I feel lucky to have been accepted. Once I am more established, I will see if I can negotiate a bit more space. Rob Lucky2
