Scrolling Steve
Ike , I have a small shop as well and i have the Shop vac air cleaner......I learned about it through Steve Goods site, Scrollsaw workshop. For a small unit it really pulls a lot of fine dust out of the air......I clean it once a week .....I can recommend it......If you go to his site and scroll down a page or two his has a link for it...Hope this helps. hawkeye10
How quiet is it Steve? The question might be how loud is it.
Scrolling Steve
The question might be how loud is it. It is not bad, not nearly as loud as a normal shop vac.....It is a steady hum, i can forget and leave it running if i am not careful. scrollerpete
I have one and it has been in my shop (very small) for many years and it does a pretty good job. I also have a dust collector and used it for the sander and table saw and chop saw. Scrolling Steve
tomsteve
I was going to mention the grizzly benchtop unit, but I see the shopvac unit filters down to .5 micron. THAT is a seller! 235 CFM's. a 10 by 10 shop with 8' ceilings is 800 cubic feet. your shop air would be filtered in about 4 minutes.... down to .5 microns! if its too loud, theres ways to baffle the sound Edited December 14, 2016 by tomsteve
stoney
I have the Shop Vac air cleaner in my shop. I also have a box fan/filter set up and between the two they work pretty well. I might add I also wear a face mask when creating dust. For those that have the Shop Vac 103000 unit they have a filter kit 80117062 on ebay right now for $19.98 including shipping. That is the best price I have ever seen for that kit and I ordered one. Scrolling Steve
