jbrowning
I was wondering if a person could take a barrel racing picture and make it into something like a woodimal pattern, meaning the words "Barrel Racing" inside the horses body and maybe the barrel. I am going to upload 3 of my pictures that I picked and I would like to see what folks come up with. Hopefully folks can see these. Thanks Jim amazingkevin

Dan
Jim, are ask if it is possible or asking for someone to make a pattern? If you need a pattern you should post in the Pattern Request section. I think that would make an excellent pattern. I can't wait to see what people come up with. Iguanadon
Jim, The pattern maker (Harvey Byler) that draws everything I make has one that you may be interested in. Take a look. The image is small on purpose so folks don't steal the design. http://www.woodenteddybearonline.com/x/product.php?productid=6653&cat=1003&page=
NC Scroller
Jim most folks I know who cut jig saw puzzles, myself included, do it by eye and not by use of a pre defined pattern. That way you can tailor your puzzle pieces to the image. If I was making that into a puzzle I would make the horse one piece and the rider a separate piece. To do so cut along their images. Then I would put different sig shims under the horse and even more shims under the rider so the rider stands proud of the horse and the horse stands proud of the back ground. Make sense? jbrowning
Yes Dan, I was asking if any of these three were good candidates to make into a cut out jigsaw puzzle or if I should keep on looking through more of my pictures. Thanks Iggy, Harvey's pattern looks nice. I will keep it in mind just in case mine doesn't work out. Thanks Scott, you lost me on sig shims though. No Scott, it doesn't make sense, I don't think you understand what Jim is looking for. He is looking for what's similar to a Woodanimal puzzle, he wants to be able to read the words when he's looking at the puzzle. Len

Really meant to say different size shims.
Birchbark
In my opinion Jim, 'barrel racing' wouldn't fit well. I doubt you'd be able to make it readable. Possibly if you added the barrel behind the horse, attached to the tail/rump it could be done. But you'd have to make it a fairly large puzzle. When i was a kid doing contest, we just called it 'Barrels' Nobody really said barrel racing, I think you'd be okay to have the puzzle just say Barrels and it would still make sense. Just my opinion of course. Russell Oh, I'd add a cowboy hat to the chick in these photos as well, if it were me.
