Lovely bowl Rusty. What wood is that?

Rob

I bought a pine board at Lowe's that is 16 inches wide by 6 feet long. It is actually 1 by 4 boards glued together to make the board. The stain I used is called gunstock. This is the one I finished today.

Nicely done Rusty, both pieces look great. I made and sold a pen identical to yours last week, I sold it for $100.00. I was surprised that the fellow paid that much for it, he asked me how much I wanted for it. And I told him that I would like to get at least $80.00 out of it, and that they were selling for more then that out west. He said no problem and handed me a $100.00 bill, and he said to keep the change. This was the first pen that I ever got that kind of money out of, I was pleased to say the least. He says that he might be back to buy the second one I made, it has a white tailed deer antler handle blank.

Wow $100, that is awesome. I never thought one of these would sell for that much.

It finally warmed up enough to go in the shop today. I needed to finish some Christmas presents. I made a bowl for my wife's cousin. Made a pen for a friend. Made a seam ripper for my wife but forgot to take a picture of it.

you've gone the extra mile with your scroll saw and it shows ! top Job!!!!

Me either, and surprisingly enough, he called me just a few hours ago and ordered three more at the same price. It's amazing that I can get that kind of money, for something that is so quick and easy to make. He said he would like to have them for Christmas, if that was possible. I told him I would have them ready for him by tomorrow afternoon, he was surprised that I could get them made so fast.

Thanks Rusty, I didn't plan or think I'd make this kind of money off of my pens. It's just that this buyer works in the oil fields, and he makes all kinds of money. He's a nice guy, and he doesn't mind sharing his wealth. He thinks he can stir up more sales for me, once he shows the pens off. I hope so, it would be nice to get the business.

Are you using wood or acrylic blanks? I would love to see some pictures.
