jbrowning Posted December 22, 2016 Report Posted December 22, 2016 Just finished my first dog puzzle. It is cut out of 3/4" Poplar with no finish on it yet, cut with a FDUR #5. I cut out the design first, then cut out the veins the inside cuts and then I cut out the puzzle pieces. It was a lot of fun cutting this out. I need to work on keeping my blade from flexing. Thanks Iggy for you help on getting me started on these. Thanks Jim Iguanadon and lawson56 2 Quote
GPscroller Posted December 22, 2016 Report Posted December 22, 2016 Nicely done. Puzzles are fun to cut, hard to stop after just one. Jeff Quote
amazingkevin Posted December 22, 2016 Report Posted December 22, 2016 Use a very light touch holding the wood so the blade springs back to 90 degree .Makes for one time cuts that go together easy. Quote

Scrolling Steve Posted December 22, 2016 Report Posted December 22, 2016 Very nice clean cutting Jim ! Quote
ike Posted December 22, 2016 Report Posted December 22, 2016 I will cut 6-8 pieces with one blade-doing the ID and OD Then change blades to do the rest. IKE Quote
Iguanadon Posted December 22, 2016 Report Posted December 22, 2016 (edited) Nicely done Jim. You'll get comfortable with everything and blade flexing won't be an issue after you cut 2 or 3 hundred of them. ;-) Is the poor fella blind though? I will not stop until I turn all of you into dog puzzle making zombies!!!!! Edited December 22, 2016 by Iguanadon jbrowning 1 Quote

jbrowning Posted December 22, 2016 Author Report Posted December 22, 2016 Thanks everyone, it was a lot of fun cutting this one. I can see how they can become addicting to cut. After the holidays are over I will start working on these of an evening. Jim Quote

Lucky2 Posted December 23, 2016 Report Posted December 23, 2016 Good looking puzzle Jim, I think it needs an eye though. It looks good as is, but, if there was an eye where there should be, it would look a lot better. Len Quote
wombatie Posted December 23, 2016 Report Posted December 23, 2016 Looks great Jim. Well done. Marg Quote
