more reindeer and sleigh

my last post only allowed 10 pics max, and im so proud of how this one came out that i had to share more pics.

 

a lot of work and time went into this set, it was a gift for my fiance's parents. I had originally intended to make two sets, one for our house and one for theres. about a week and a half before christmas, my fiance's sister in law saw them and ordered 4 sleighs and 4 reindeer. So as of now we still dont have a set for our house. LOL there is always next year.

I really like those.  I can see why they are "flying off the shelf"     I like how you took the extra effort to shape each piece.  Very nice.

thank you, and yes that was the part that made it sell, but also made it torturous lol  Learned something new. Prior to this i had never used a dremel in that fashion, so it was a learning experience on the fly.

I like everything about this project. your display of it really makes it pop. Where did you find that light string?

 

If you are going to do more shaping like this I would suggest getting some larger sanding drums like what those of us that do Intarsia use. I am amazed that you did all of this with a Dremel.

Sorry Gordie, but I don't understand your reply, please explain?? I was making my statement on what has been the norm since Santa first started. It's like the song goes, on Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancer, on Vixen, on Comet, on Cupid, on Donner, and on Blitzen.

thank you, the light string is actually a strand of decorative rope and a light strand intertwined, they were bought separately at pat catans

thanks, as far as the amount the pattern on;ly called for the 5 reindeer, rudolph is there in front, and after all the work in shaping them, im glad there were only 5 to do. lol Yes i could have done a couple more of each, but i dont think it would have looked right to have multiple deer with the same positions.

  Klatimer, to avoid the shortfall of not having one set for yourself try a Christmas in July. I have my in-laws Aunts, Daughters & wife tell me what they want for X-mas no later than July 4th, this way I have plenty of time to make it and they have plenty of time to forget they were getting it for X-mas.
