hawkeye10 Posted January 8, 2017 Report Posted January 8, 2017 This is from the Judy & Dave Peterson book I bought. If you like to cut puzzles they have a lot of patterns you will like. This is made of red oak and cut with a number 7 blade. They recommend a number 7 or 9 blade. I have been cutting others with a number 3. The finish is Watco Danish oil. Thanks for looking. Lucky2, New Guy, jbrowning and 2 others 5 Quote

Denny Knappen Posted January 9, 2017 Report Posted January 9, 2017 Well done, Don. I use FD Polar #5 on my 3/4" puzzles. It seems the pieces fit together better. Quote
lost_in_endicott Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 I like that puzzle. I just got that same book the other day, and am thinking of doing the beagle for my father. His favorite dog when he was a kid was Casey, a beagle. There are lots of great patterns in that book. Nice job! Quote
hawkeye10 Posted January 10, 2017 Author Report Posted January 10, 2017 Well done, Don. I use FD Polar #5 on my 3/4" puzzles. It seems the pieces fit together better. I really noticed a difference on the back of the neck on this dog. In my opinion the gap is to big. I do like the thicker blade when cutting the toes and mouth and other things like that. Quote
meflick Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 very nice job on the beagle. Thanks for sharing. Quote
Denny Knappen Posted January 11, 2017 Report Posted January 11, 2017 I really noticed a difference on the back of the neck on this dog. In my opinion the gap is to big. I do like the thicker blade when cutting the toes and mouth and other things like that. On veining, I also use a larger blade something like a FD Polar #7 Quote
heppnerguy Posted January 18, 2017 Report Posted January 18, 2017 This puzzle piece is a really nice stand alone piece. He has a lot of class and eye appeal I bet it would sell well at a craft show Dick heppnerguy Quote
