A grandfather asked me if I could make him a sign for his Granddaughter's tree house. I used a piece of Russian Olive scrap and finished it with a Spar Poly as it's going to be outside. First time I've used this finish, so we'll see how it lasts.

a very carming addition to the tree house a home away from home.quality work always comes from Tim's Wood Scroll Shoppe

Tim I have not heard of Russian Olive wood but it's beautiful and you did a great job of scrolling on it.

Tim, this is an outstanding piece of work, I'm sure Rosie's grandfather will be impressed with it. I'm a firm believer in using black for a backer color, but, sometimes I wonder if another color would be better to use. What do you think this sign would look like, if the backer color was a bright red? Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the way it looks now. This is just me thinking out loud, and asking for your opinion?

I've used other colors before. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. He wanted it to look similar to another sign he has. It was done with a router and then the recesses were painted black, so I used black to match. I think it'd look good with Red too.
