not to be rude, but what's your point, neighbor? I get the same out of a flying dutchman. Sometimes more, on a BM - 26 Hawk. There's alot of variances in how much a user can get out of a blade. If the saw is tuned, tension is kept right, & you let the blade do the work, WOW! the results might surprise one.

I am glad you have found a blade that works well for you.

How do you like the BM?

You are right about blade life, too many variables to say one is better than another.

whoa,   I think trackman has found a blade that he is really satisfied with and would like to share his findings with other scrollers here. Nothing that needs to be challenged. Your points are valid but if I had made that post, I think I would have felt a little upset by the way you jumped on it.. Relax......we are all here to share ideas.. and to try and help each other..When one finds a product he or she likes they just want others to know their discovered results...not feel put down with it.. Sorry you felt so strong about the post...

Thanks Dick. I agree with the variables. Everyone has a different cutting style and one person can make a blade work for them and another cannot get it to work on there machine. I am a big fan of FD blades but wanted to try some others. I ordered a few Pegas MGB to try. Can't wait to get them.

SAW703 I have been scrolling for about 7 years and have always used FD.  I have a EX 21 that cuts like a champ and I know how to keep things adjusted to get max out of blades.  Cutting two 1&1/2" compound pieces and 14 other things is (IMO) a lot to ask of a single blade no matter the brand.  Not to forget hitting a nail with the blade.  The FD UR #5 more than likely will still my go to blade for anything under 3/4".   One other thing about the Pegas is it doesn't have the drift the FD does.  The Pegas needs to be feed straight into the line not at a angle like the FDs.  Takes some getting use to going from one to the other.

Mr. Rolf, to be honest, I wished I'd of bought it sooner! I bought a VS - 20 2 years ago, & it was a used machine with very little use. I wore it out. We took it Bushton, KS to Hawks' plant for them to repair, & we decided it would be cheaper to invest in a new saw. So we bought the 26. I love the saw! I have no complaints about it! It has a blade adjustment to tilt the blade to make it cut more aggressive, or less aggressive. Its so quiet, you can hear the blade cutting. No issues with vibrations. Hope this helps, Rolf.

Nice cutting. I am going to have to try some of those blades. I have heard a lot of good things about them. Still looking for a good blade to cut my bowls out. Have an Olson blade here I haven't tried yet and will pick some of these up next time I go to Woodcraft.

I always get spooked by blade discussions, they like "what is the best saw" were always a treacherous  place to go.

I periodically, as my scrolling skills mature, will purchase different brand blades to see if they work better than what I mostly use.

It may time for another run at the Pegas and FD blades.

Trackman what wood is the chess piece? It looks like poplar.
