spirithorse
I can't say tht it is the best but, I would use a mitre/miter saw. The fine teeth are accurate for cutting mitres/miters so, it should be fine for cutting sheets to a useful size. God Bless! hawkeye10
whats the best hand saw for cutting 3/6mm plywood sheets. are the Japanese pull saw ok, if so what do you recomend/ If you are cutting bigger sheets of ply into smaller pieces so you can put patterns on them a Japanese pull saw would be a good choice. I have two of them and they are great to have when you need them. I don't use them often because I have power tools. If you have power tools like a table saw, jig saw, band saw, or other saws they would be easier and quicker to use but a hand saw will be just fine. Phantom Scroller
I use Japanese saws for all cutting now, my tenon saw is gathering dust. There is a saw for every use I have four so far. Would never go back takes the hard work out of cutting. Roly
Scrappile
When I buy a sheet I ask the vendor to cut it in three equal pieces. That way it is easier to carry home, and the pieces are small enough I can saw the sizes I need on the table saw. If I have a sheet that is too big to handle on the table saw I use a circular saw and a straight edge. GrampaJim
WayneMahler
Normally I cut mine on my table saw. If I was going to cut it by hand, I would probably use a fine toothed back saw. I have several Japanese pull saws and think the blades are a good fit also, just seems the bak saw would be a better choice for me.
Lucky2
Use a Jig-Saw with a good quality blade, and you can get a nice clean cut. Plus, with using a Jig-saw, you can cut the sheet up into whatever shape you might want. Len
crupiea
I have the store quater each panel. i then cut them to size on the scroll saw. not that easy as they will still be pretty big but it works if you stand far enough away and have a foot pedal. Sparkey
If you don't have a table saw have them cut it where you buy it. I buy my 1/4" plywood at Lowe's and have them cut it down to 1' by 4' pieces. Then I can get it in the car and don't have to bring my truck. All of my fretwork is 12 x 12 or 12 by 16 so it makes it real easy. amazingkevin
