orangeman
I went to the candy store today! Got a flyer from the lumber yard that they had 4/4 Red Grandis on sale for $2.46/bf, 6-10" widths x 10' length. Had not heard about Red Grandis before. Common name is Eucalyptus. Native to Australia but also can come from South America. Will make some dynamite dragon puzzles. It was flawless with no knots etc. Also picked up some #2 Walnut for $3.71/bf. Very few knots. I backed the truck up! Probably have a couple years worth of both varieties now. Definitely worth the 100+ mile trip. bb amazingkevin, jbrowning and lawson56

Scrappile
I checked the internet photo for the Red Grandis. Beautiful wood. I thought they had Eucalyptus In Calif. Maybe a different species. It smelled nice. Huge trees. I could be wrong, that was back when I was stationed a short while at Camp Pendleton. bandaideman
I met a older lady at a show in Dec. she bought some things and was impressed with the wood finish. ( doesn't take much to impress some people) anyway we talked and she mentioned her husband passed away a few years ago and milled wood and sold from home. She has a pool barn full of ruff sawn oak, cherry, walnut, and others which she is selling at the same price as her husband did. so 1.50 /bf for lesser woods and 2,50bf for walnut and cherry and 1 dollar less /bf if has knot. She asked if I was interested to call after the holidays so I go look tomorrow and see whats what. she is pretty with it and healthy at 85 so I think she may load it for me too. No I am taking a friend incase I buy some.
