Popular Post Scrappile
Just finished cutting. I am not really into celebrity portraits, but I got such a great response locally to my "Lonesome Dove" one that I thought I would see how this one went over. I am going to try to start selling some, instead of giving them away. I'd like to get back enough to support the hobby, not me. Anyway. Willie has always been a favorite of mine, and I saw this pattern at Charles Dearing's site. I decided to try to cut it. It is in 1/8" BB. I stacked cut 3. I really do not like stack cutting, but if I am going to try to sell a few, I guess I have to. I used a lot of blades and a verity of blades from 3/0 spiral to a #5 FD-SR5. wombatie
Amazing. That would not have been an easy pattern to cut but then I looked through the rest of your album and thought that maybe it would have been easier than it looked because you have cut some doozies. Fantastic work Paul      Marg Scrappile

spirithorse
Just like all your work, Paul, SUPERB!I think you should send two to Willie Nelson letting him know that one is for him and you'd like him to autograph the 2nd and send it back to you. Here's the contact info:Willie Nelson12400 St Hwy 71 WSte 350Austin, TX 78738 I actually met the country duo called Joey and Rory after they were on a country televison show and gave them a cutting that I did from a pattern I made and they autographed one for me and have the other hanging in a restaurant they own in Tennessee. God Bless! Spirithorse Scrappile
blights69
That there is the reason I keep on practising to get to a level of cutting like that. What a quality pattern brought to life but a quality scroller. Thanks for sharing this with us. You know its a superb cut when you keep looking back at it and still think S*** that is one decent piece of work. Scrappile

DukeNukem
Lot of holes but a great job on this piece. I hope the selling part works out for you. Jerry Scrappile
Scrappile
Thank you all for the very nice comments. I really appreciate it. These are really no more difficult than less dense (less holes) patterns, it is still drilling the holes, putting a blade through the hole and following the pattern. There are just more holes. You do have to think out the cutting sequence a little more to try to help support the more fragile areas a long as possible. This one took me 5 days cutting maybe a total of 5 to 6 hours total each day. I have to take lots of breaks to keep my back working. It is a thrill to make the final cut, see that is still holding together and then lay it on a black background and see come to life. Now I have to make frames, I hate making frames..... Seriously, thanks again for the nice comment. I'm sure you all know how much they mean.
bronx
You are truly a master craftsman at your work. An artist at scroll sawing. You are the scroll saw artist that keep folks like myself keep coming back and try to reach the level of work you put forth. Like Dave Monk stated "How in the world will you even price that". Wow I can't stop looking at it. It's magical. Marg's Sinatra's portrait work had the same effect on my staring. Maybe because my mother love Frank so much. Awesome work. Just friggin awesome.....!
