Yes Dick, Dave is a great guy for helping any of us out when in a jam. But, you shouldn't be so modest, you never seem to give yourself the credit you deserve. You're a great guy also, you do whatever you can to assist any member here. You're always making new patterns, that you so willingly share with all of us. And your praise for others work, is very encouraging to the person your replying to. You take the critiquing of your work in stride without getting upset, even if the critique isn't real pleasant. I really admire you for that, there's not a lot of people who can or will do that. So, please don't go selling yourself short, because, along with Dave your one of the nicest members on this site.

P.S. Oh yeah, nice sign.

I had another request for a sign. I do not like making signs. The person sent me a rough drawing that to show me what she was interested in. I went to Dave Monk and ask him if he would help me come up with some ideas. Then I sent his ideas to the lady who made the inquiry and showed her what I had to offer. As soon as she saw this pattern, designed not by me but by Dave Monk she immediately sent back a reply saying, "I want the first one..it is perfect."  So I went ahead and made it for her. I have not shown it to her yet but I am sure she will like it. I made this one out of 1/4 inch BB Ply. This is an indoor only sign.

Thank you so much Dave for your help with my project. You are not  only a great pattern designer and really good at with the art you produce, but you are also a generous and giving person to take your time to help me with this one. I am happy to call you my friend and family member here in The Village...

Very very nice. You and Dave make a great team. Dick I believe you do more scrolling than anyone on here. To do what I do it takes a lot of concentration and after about 15 or 20 minutes I have to get up and do something else. I believe if the police gave me a sobriety test I would fail it every time. It's so hard to follow a straight line.

Wow Len,

I guess I just understand that I am only a mediocre scroller but I have acquired a little knowledge through the years. I also know that after all these years I still have not been able to acquire the finishing technique that makes me feel good about my work. I have been inspired to take on more challenging fret work by all the wonderful pieces posted here. I feel my cutting ability has gotten better because of what others do and share here. Some people appear to be naturals from the get go. All this inspires me. YOU have been so kind to me and have not hesitated or backed down from helping me when you see the need. I always look forward to your remarks on my efforts and found them to be very helpful. When I visited with Paul ( scrappile) and saw his outstanding work, I went home and stepped up my efforts to do better. When I started trying to make patterns, Timothy, from Australia, stepped up and has helped me over and over again. A lot of others, way too many to mention, have offered helpful things to me all through the time I have been here on The Village. We all are here to help each other and to learn from each other also. I too have stepped up and helped several people here whenever I find the opportunity to do so. That is the very reason we consider this a FAMILY here. As to your previous remarks about me all I can say about that is. BLUSH

Dick, Thank you so much for the nice comments. I started my journey in scrolling a little over a year ago. No way would I be where I am without all the help I have received from everyone here at the Village. Every day I get a new point of view and idea that inspire me to try a new technique and method of doing my craft. I enjoy helping others any time I can. I have definitely received from you all more than I have given. dave
