djhwoodwerks Posted February 22, 2017 Report Posted February 22, 2017 I use Inkscape 4.8 to make most of my patterns, and just found a newer version, 0.92. Does anyone use the new version? Are there any more benefits over the 4.8 version? Quote
bandaideman Posted February 22, 2017 Report Posted February 22, 2017 I use the 0.91 and just noted the 0.92 and was going to ask the same question between those. I am still a novice on the inkscape but learning. Made a few patterns nothing earth shatering. Quote
tvman44 Posted February 23, 2017 Report Posted February 23, 2017 I have not been on too much the last 9 months and was not aware there was a newer version than .48 which I have used a bit. I will be interested to find out if the .92 is better, because I might upgrade. Thanks. Quote
OCtoolguy Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 I just got Inkscape a week or two ago and it's the 0.92 you are referring to. I love it so far but I have nothing to compare it to. Why not just go for the update? What have you got to lose? Quote
jerry1939 Posted February 25, 2017 Report Posted February 25, 2017 I uninstalled 0.91 The only option Inkscape gives now is 0.92 Played with it a little today and found it to be more user friendly. Would recommend it, however I am definitely not at all skilled and only use it on a limited basis. jerry OCtoolguy 1 Quote
OCtoolguy Posted February 25, 2017 Report Posted February 25, 2017 Jerry1939, there are a ton of youtube tutorials if you check. I am learning a lot from them. Quote
bandaideman Posted February 25, 2017 Report Posted February 25, 2017 thanks for the comments gentlemen. Jerry in your case I use the term loosely. I may do the same. I know with the 0.91 I tried to load the bird of paradise which was a no go for some reason. then I downloaded the .48 for giggles and the font showed up in both. Not sure what that was all about. will try the .92 and see. I too have had limited use but have found it pretty good. Thanks for the tutorial who ever makes them they help. jerry1939 1 Quote
