Popular Post Scrappile
I was in my wife's sewing room a while back and noticed she did not have a clock in there. I decided to make her one. This is a bit different, I got the pattern from Sue Mey's site. I used Black Walnut and some Blood. I was hoping the blood wood would not have turned as dark as it did when I put the finish on, but you don't always get exactly what you want. And the reason it is not finished, the hands for the clock were not in the package when I received the movement. My order clearly states the hands I wanted. Remains to be seen how that will turn out. C and C's welcome. My wife does not know about it yet, when I get the hand thing settled, I will hang it in her room and see how many months to by before she notices... Gordster
That is some nice work Paul.I believe when you put the hands on the face,it will highlight the darker wood colors. Scrappile
Fab4
Hi Paul As a rule I'm not crazy about dark colors (together) but this turned out "sew" nice well done Good Luck with the hands - hope it all turns out great for you Fab4 Scrappile

munzieb
Really nice cutting. If there is not enough contrast, you can always cut another clock with either a lighter or darker background. I know someone with appreciate it. Scrappile

Scrappile
Thanks for the kind comments. I keep think/wishing I had used a lighter wood, like maple. The Bloodwood would have really "popped" then. Maybe one of these days I will get some more thin bloodwood and try it again. Then again maybe I will never get around to it....
