kenney84
Hi, my name is Kenney. I am new to the site. I started scroll sawing in high school and fell in love with it. I unfortunatly do not have a one now(dont have the money) but when i do, be rest assured i will be picking some brains for some ideas. Right now i just do a bit of wood burning. any ideas of things i could do with that? im mostly just dabbling with lines have not verymuch experience with shading or anything else for that matter:) anyway, hope to talk to you all soon. Dan
Welcome to the village Kenney! Keep working on your woodburning because when you do start scrolling, you will be able to do some amazing things with your scrolled work. There are some folks here that add some great details to their fretwork and portraits with their woodburning tools. Great to have you aboard. Dave M
Hey Kenny welcome to the group! The people here are great, very helpful in all ways possible! So along those lines, I also wood burn, as do others here. A couple great sites to check out for tutorials on burning are: Cheryl Dow http://www.cherylddow.com/Free%20Lessons%20.htm Nedra Denison http://www.nedraspyrography.com/Pyrography101.htm Sue Walters http://www.suewalters.com/PyroSchool.html Another great group like this is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PyrographicArt/ I am a member of it and they will answer a ton of questions for you there. I usually go to Nedra's site first. She is a top of the notch artist and has published many books on the topic of wood burning (pyrography). Hope this helps. Travis
Hi Kenny. Welcome to the Village. We're glad you found us. Hopefully you'll be able to save some pennies and get yourself a saw soon. It would be awesome to have you back in the hobby. Until then, you can use many of the patterns in the Pattern Library for woodburning. They wouldn't be shaded designs that's typical of pyrography, but I've seen some folks turn scroll saw patterns into woodburning patterns and they look great. I've seen Christina do that and they turn out really neat.
