heppnerguy Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 (edited) My daughter used some hummingbirds that I made using the intarsia technique and when I saw this pattern and I just had to make it for her. I believe this one was from The Berry Basket or something like that. I used a piece of 1/16 wood as my backer board for the center of it with the wall it is hung on to be the show through color for the rim part. It was a 3 hour project for me to cut. I thought I would be able to do it in under 2 hours, but then, I like the cutting part of it so I was happy to be able to spend the extra time in my shop anyway Dick heppnerguy Edited March 15, 2017 by heppnerguy jollyred, bobscroll, Loskoppie and 1 other 4 Quote

stevan Posted March 17, 2017 Report Posted March 17, 2017 Very Nice! My wife is going thru a "bird phase" right now so when my skills get there, I'll be doing some birds too. I only hope mine turn out as well as this one did. Quote
heppnerguy Posted March 17, 2017 Author Report Posted March 17, 2017 thank you for all who responded to this thread. It was a perfect match to her hummingbird cupboards. The gap in the frame was because I glued it and then instead of clamping it, I decided just to place a board on it and some weight. My mistake, it obviously shifted just a little, leaving the gap.. My daughter was not bothered by it so I am not going to loose any sleep over that Dick heppnerguy Quote
