tuner
Had this discussion with the wife , she thinks we should fix the plumbing b4 I spend the money on a saw **%\$#%&&"+'*-&%& OK....... So there goes any chance at a new or recon. Yes I have looked for a month so I went back to the excalibur 19 inch, I offered he excepted 125.00 I was out to see it a few weeks ago so I know what I am buying PRO--. It's clean, high speed (3 speed belt change) it has no more vib. then my old RBI (, MAYBE LESS). I cut some wood different speeds it's quiet enough and I know a thing or 3 about machinery to judge it well made... Foot switch and light. Con -- about 15+ years old, no parts and heavy ( that may not be a con) . The big con ... The reason I walked away the first time , rethreading the blade .. the arm does not lift , my only experience is on my old saw the arm lift's you have room to see your next hole.. a couple of members tell me this will not be a problem you bend the blade and there is enough room.... I have to figure there is a way and hope to get use to it. It was also pointed out if I got it cheap enough and it does break I could almost get my money back parting it out, don't think it will come to that. At least starting tomorrow Iam not going to be saw less 😊😊😊😊 Phantom Scroller

hawkeye10
Sounds like a good deal Randy. Your wife will be okay with it when you make her something nice. Besides I bet she spends money on things she likes. My wife doesn't say anything about the money I spend nor do I say anything to her. For us this works out pretty good. We both don't go overboard with our spending that is what makes it work.

hotshot
Well, I'm siding with your wife on this one, it is sure nice to flush and things disappear as they should :-) That said, now that you have a saw, you can continue to look at leisure without being in a rush. Awesome deals come around, you just have to keep looking, and be patient. It's not how wide you look, its' how long. Check out Craigslist daily, and eventually, something will pop. I bought a 14" hegner for less than $100, since I already had a higher end model, I probably shouldn't have, but I couldn't resist. Got a nice Type I DW788 at a Pawnshop. Found other good deals over the years, and bought and gave some away to promote the hobby. Edited March 17, 2017 by hotshot

David Lehner
hope all is well now that you have the new saw... I have it made actually .... my wife is a seamstress ... she does alterations out of our home. I dont question her when she buys a new sewing machine or serger... or an iron that costs about $200.00 Likewise she does not give me grief when I but another scroll saw or a new tool... it works well for us
Rolf
You may have to fix your own plumbing.
