Friends and Coffee Make the Perfect Blend

I made this yesterday, March 20th.  The pattern is by Keith Fenton and purchased from Sheila Landry's website.  I used 1/2" Red Oak approximately 5 1/2" x 15" without a backing.  The blades used were FD Polar #3.  The finish was one coat sanding sealer and two coats of spray Shellac.  A rather easy project with a nice message.  Comments welcome.

Wow look at the quality cutting on the lettering this is why I love this site I see things like this with crisp bang on the money lettering and it inspires me to keep on learning keep on trying and eventually one day I will be cutting letters as good as this. Thanks for sharing with us  :)  :D Frank

Thanks Frank.  Crisp straight lines are important, so I used two blades in the process.

Hi Denny, that is a very beautiful piece there.

I had a couple of issues lately where the glue did not

stick to the painted backer.

Lately I have been using dark walnut stain intead of black paint.

I find it goes farther and when I spray on the finish, it doesn't make

the black border shine too bright. Just right for my old eyes.

Thanks Gordie.  I previously used Samen stain an water based stain recommended by Sheila Landry.  I will go back to the old faithful.
