kdog Posted April 6, 2017 Report Posted April 6, 2017 (edited) Hello everyone. I'm new here but have been scrolling for quite a while. Thought I'd show a picture of a few things I've done. These are all out of exotic woods and scaled down to 1/2, 2/3 or 3/4 size. Edited April 6, 2017 by kdog JOE_M, penquin, New Guy and 4 others 6 1 Quote

kdog Posted April 6, 2017 Author Report Posted April 6, 2017 Currently working on Pedro's Milan Cathedral. http://finescrollsaw.com/milan-cathedral.htm Trying it at 2/3 size, but it's getting tough. Lots of small and very thin pieces coming up. I'll post a couple of pictures later tonight. Ken Quote

kdog Posted April 6, 2017 Author Report Posted April 6, 2017 Thanks for all of the comments. I've enjoyed every minute working on these, but have no idea how many. During the fall and winter, I get home from work and this is what I do. A couple hours here and there. As much of a challenge as they already are, I like to reduce the size down to a more manageable 24" or so. I've actually built about 20 of these. Sold a couple, but gave most away. You'll never get rich doing this. For anyone interested, I'll post a few pictures in the 'Works in Progress' forum showing the progress on the Milan Cathedral shortly. Thanks again, Ken Quote
Bill WIlson Posted April 6, 2017 Report Posted April 6, 2017 Ken, I'm following your Milan Cathedral build over at SSW&C, so I know you are an accomplished scroller. I love those classic fretwork clock patterns. Absolutely magnificent! Quote

wombatie Posted April 7, 2017 Report Posted April 7, 2017 WOW there is certainly a lot of time and patience sitting there. I absolutely love the one in the middle. Fabulous work. Marg Quote
kdog Posted April 7, 2017 Author Report Posted April 7, 2017 Thanks Marg. The middle one is the Amiens clock from Wildwood Designs, but I don't think the plans are available anymore. At least I can't find them. This is the 3rd one that I built. The first 2 were full size (about 36") and made of oak and walnut. Sold one, auctioned the other one off to help a local family with some medical bills. The one in the picture is made of mahogany, walnut, jatoba and purple heart. 2/3 scale at about 24". I'm rambling....... Quote
heppnerguy Posted April 7, 2017 Report Posted April 7, 2017 Your work is astounding. I have always been intriguing by the projects on the pattern makers page. Not sure I will ever tackle one of those big projects of his but I do have the Eifle Tower in my scope. My hat is off to you. And Welcome to The Village. We are all proud to have you in our family. Dick heppnerguy Quote
kdog Posted April 7, 2017 Author Report Posted April 7, 2017 Thanks Dick. The Eifel tower that I built was from Wildwood Designs. Pedro has a more detailed one on his website. I'll probably build that one someday too. Quote
