hawkeye10
I was in the process of making 21 crosses Easter sunday school class. I was cutting double stick tape to rout the bases for the crosses. I am putting round bases instead of the octagon base that is the picture. I was using a box knife and it slipped but it happened so fast that is all I remember. I cut my ring finger on my right hand and it took three stitches. I sure glad it wasn't my road rage finger. I don't think the crosses will be ready in time. A week late might be okay. bobscroll, Phantom Scroller, Lucky2 and 1 other

Gordster
Ouch Don yes had a few of those cuts. Darn box cutters are so sharp you don't really know you cut yourself until you see the blood.
NC Scroller
I feel your pain. Knock on wood my only serious woodworking injury was with a sheet rock knife. Got my index finger. Like you I wore a three stitch badge of dishonor and my project was put on hold for a week.

orangeman
Same drill here Thanksgiving weekend. 3 stitches. They were out in 10 days and I was back at the saw. My planer backfired. A small piece got stuck in the planer so I took a stick 12" long x 1/2" x 1/2" to push the piece through. Backfired on me. Pushed that stick back into the palm of my hand. learned later to never put anything less that 12" in length through the planer to begin with. Same with a jointer. Too bad the crosses will be delayed. They are beautiful on the base.
jerry1939
Saddened to read that Friend. I am 77 years old and have yet to find an intelligent way to hurt myself. For me, it has always been preceded by something stupid. garyo1954
