hotshot Posted April 29, 2017 Report Posted April 29, 2017 This fretwork was found in First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro, TN. From a distance, it looks like one piece, close up you can see how he put it together. I would love to see the saw he did this on. It could have been with a hand fretsaw, but I doubt it. I'm thinking early pedal powered model. WayneMahler, jollyred, SCROLLSAW703 and 6 others 9 Quote
Denny Knappen Posted April 29, 2017 Report Posted April 29, 2017 That is amazing, Randy. It must have been pedal power. Quote
MrsN Posted April 29, 2017 Report Posted April 29, 2017 That is an impressive piece on many levels. If it was done with today's saws and pattern making it would be awesome, but to think it was done 132 years ago is truly impressive. danny 1 Quote
hawkeye10 Posted April 29, 2017 Report Posted April 29, 2017 Wow!!! If it's on display I might have to go by and see it. I live about three miles from there. Quote
WayneMahler Posted April 29, 2017 Report Posted April 29, 2017 took my breath away. That is just so awesome. He was a true craftsman. Quote

meflick Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 Beautiful work - amazing that it has survived this long. Would love to see how he did it way back then. Thanks for sharing Randy. Quote
fastfreddy Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 Wow absolutely beautiful work. The time it must have taken to complete that piece of art at that time. Quote
stoney Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 (edited) That piece is truly awesome. I too wonder what scroll saw was used and the amount of time it took to create. Thank you Randy for posting it. Edited April 30, 2017 by stoney Quote
