ImaginationUnincorporated
I was just thinking about the rare earth magnets for the lower holder flipping out of place problem. For those unfamiliar with rare earth magnets, this five foot tall waking stick should give a hint of their power. This on is on my table saw with nothing but the magnet on the bottom holding it up. danny, Rockytime and OCtoolguy 2
Rockytime
These magnets are epoxied in. They go nowhere. However, I just tilt down for instant release. I use them in many places. OCtoolguy
Popular Post Jim Finn
Here is another modification to my Hegner saws I made. Helps to center the blade in the clamp. Just pop riveted in place. danny, Scrappile, OCtoolguy and 7 others 7
Rockytime
Thanks. That is a clever idea I WILL STEAL! Perhaps BORROW is a better word. Jim Finn, OCtoolguy and danny 2

Scrappile
Or you two could make a saw like the Hegner with your ideas and add another scroll saw to those available. While you are producing these saws, add a bigger table to it. stoney, Jim Finn, OCtoolguy and 1 other 3

Jim Finn
I drilled the holes for the rivets about 1/4" deep, then installed the aluminium rivets. OCtoolguy and Rockytime 1
Rockytime
I just made the same this evening. The pop rivets are genius! I have one more to make. danny, Dave Monk and OCtoolguy
JimErn
I understand the mod for centering the blade on the hegner But what is the inset for in your pic that looks like a saw blade? or is that just to remind you what to use that inset area for? Jim Finn
Hegner puts the "saw teeth" in there clamp holder to show you which way the teeth should face, I guess. I have found that I scratched my arm on this modification so I rounded off the corners a bit. OCtoolguy

I thought that might be it, but then I thought why make it a cut out when an engraved outline would work fine. thanks OCtoolguy and Jim Finn 1
Sycamore67
I think everything on a Hegner is made to last forever and the cut out will never wear off. Hegner saws seem to last a long time with no problems. OCtoolguy, Jim Finn and danny
Scrappile
Does that modification work well for all sizes of blades? OCtoolguy and Jim Finn

stoney
Another twist on Jim Finn's modification to the Hegner blade clamp jig. My thought was the V will accommodate any size blade. Edited August 26, 2019 by stoney Jim Finn, OCtoolguy, Dave Monk and 3 others

Rockytime
Just cut the boss off my 14" Hegner. Gave another couple of inches for bottom feeding. If I don't need it I get rid of it. OCtoolguy and Jim Finn 1

stoney
I don't Know about the 14 inch Hegner but on the 18 and 22 inch machines it's because of the hold down rod. If you look at the pictures of my machine you will notice that I had to raise the arm and lengthen the rod for the hold down in order to accommodate the extra clearance.
