Popular Post Rob
Fretwork tray designed by Steve Good cut from some rimu tongue and groove from the back of an old wardrobe and a piece of drawer side for the base. One coat of 50/50 BLO and mineral turpentine. I will give it a coat of beeswax once it is fully dry. This was fun to cut and I was able to stack cut the sides and ends which saved time. We can not get rimu and you get it from furniture Jeff Thanks Jeff, I'm lucky to be able to find bits of rimu at the dump fairly regularly but there's lots we can't get here, like Baltic Birch ply and our DIY stores only carry pine generally. The choice you guys have is amazing! Rob
Rob
Thanks Ralph, The sides are 5/16ths so not too bad to stack cut. 50/50 BLO changes the colour dramatically. Here is a picture of it on the saw for comparison. You wouldn't think it was the same piece! Rob

fastfreddy
You did an excellent job of cutting. I love fretwork, but haven't found much time lately for anything. "Life" keeps getting in my way. I still check in regularly just to see what's going on. Rob
Scrappile
Beautiful piece of work. I love that wood, don't think I have seen it in for sale at websites. Amazing how it changes color so much when you put 50/50 BLO on. I love the color. Rob
