CATRK
I have an opportunity to buy a used Hegner Multimax 2. 1985. What are your thoughts? Asking $385.
Sycamore67
I think it is too much.....maybe $200 at most. SCROLLSAW703
stoney
The Hegner Multi-Max 2 is a 14.5 inch single speed saw. It is top feed only and blade tension is in the rear. It would not be a good saw for cutting fretwork. As for the price that is close to 50% of new retail for a 32 year old saw . I personally would not be interested in a saw with such limitations. CATRK
Thanks. I thought it might be overpriced. About ready to order the new Seyco saw, but now considering saving a bit more money and going with the Hawk226. SCROLLSAW703
Roberta Moreton
If you do fretwork, go with the Seyco, or the Dewalt.

Scrappile
Congratulations! I do not think you will not be at all disappointed with the Seyco. It is like an Excalibur only with a bigger table. Very smooth and quiet. If you plan on doing a bench top mount, notify them and let them know. They will need to ensure your package contains the updated short legs for that. I highly recommend watching Steve Goods video on Youtube before you start assembly of the saw and stand. Assembly of this saw is a little more involved than most scroll saws. I referred to the video several time during assembly. It is not overly difficult, but can be a little frustrating if you do not pay close attention to the required processes.
